Vineyard and Property Overview

The estate currently occupies 23 Acres under vine. The soil has been tested for more plantations of up to 100 acres. With a current shortage of Virginia grapes, this farm is an excellent investment opportunity.

Production is focused on Vitis-Vinifera varietals which include: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Traminette, Viognier, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and a French Hybrid, Seyval Blanc. 12 acres make up established vines producing 2-5 tons an acre depending on varietal. These vines make up Block 1, 2 and 3. And were planted beginning in 1987. Additional vineyards are 3, 2, and 1 year old, making up the remainder of the 8 Blocks.

Grapes and Soil

The rolling landscape, with its rich soils from eons of granite and sandstone erosion, gives good air and drainage for wine grapes. Add the usually moderate winters and a generous growing season and the result is very productive ground for winemaking grapes.
